North Penn School District elementary schools will be holding a Reading Super Bowl on February 7, 2024. This literacy event is held in conjunction with the NFL Super Bowl, and is a chance for North Penn High School football players to visit elementary schools in the district and read to students.

The event is mutually beneficial, encouraging young students to read and find a love of books while also providing high school students the opportunity to be role models for younger students and develop leadership skills.

The event is a North Penn tradition that has returned after a three year hiatus. In 2005, the first year the program was held, 30 football players visited 8 elementary schools. This year, 80 players will visit all 13 elementary schools, reaching 6,150 North Penn elementary students to celebrate literacy and a love of reading. The players will depart the high school at 9:30 am and spend the morning with elementary students until 11:15 am.

The event is supported by the North Penn School District Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing North Penn students with enhanced educational experiences and resources. To learn more about the NPSD Educational Foundation, please visit their website.
